An Altered Vehicle (AV) is one altered or stretched to increase passenger capacity beyond that provided by the original manufacturer by method of extended chassis, lengthened wheelbase, or a lengthened seating area. These vehicles are commonly known as a limousine or stretch limousine.
NYSDMV requires all stretch limousines and vehicles that have been otherwise altered to increase seating capacity to be registered through a central location. Your registration request CANNOT be processed online or at a DMV Office.
Your completed Vehicle Registration/Title application, required documents, and payment, must be mailed* to:
